PTAB Bar Association Announces Agenda for Inaugural Conference

Washington, DC: The PTAB Bar Association is pleased to announce the agenda for its inaugural conference on March 1–3, 2017 at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C., which will bring together practitioners, in-house counsel from key industries, and members of the bench from around the country on topics related to practice before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The conference will feature a keynote address by PTAB Chief Judge David Ruschke, a series of panels of judges, practitioners and industry specialists, a boot camp on essential aspects of PTAB proceedings, and several social and networking opportunities.

“Patents are a cornerstone of our economy, and disputes related to their validity are increasingly being addressed at the PTAB – where all players have an interest in promoting the highest professional standards. We’re particularly excited that leaders in key industries such as the technology and life sciences sectors will engage along with PTAB officials and practitioners at this inaugural conference, as together we work on practical steps to support the evolution of the PTAB and the practice before it,” said Michael Cohen, a co-chair to the Industry Committee.

CLE credit will be available.
