2024 PTAB Bar Association Annual Conference

The 2024 PTAB Bar Association Annual Conference will be held in person on March 6-8, 2024, at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C.  We will also offer all sessions live-streamed as a virtual component for those who are under a travel ban or would prefer to participate virtually.

The conference will bring together practitioners, in-house counsel, and members of the bench of the Patent Trial Appeal Board (PTAB) for three days of engaging and educational presentations and interactive discussions on best practices, recent developments and trends, policy considerations, and much more!

The Conference will feature APJ Day, with sessions led by the PTAB APJs including: a bootcamp for appeals to the PTAB, a question-and-answer session with responses to the most frequently asked questions, and a game show session testing participants’ knowledge of PTAB practice. Additional sessions such as: a dynamic discussion of real-parties-in -interest, DEI issues in the PTAB practice, ethics issues in artificial intelligence, a debate on obviousness with prominent academicians, and a session offering insights from the District Court bench will be offered at the Conference.

Networking opportunities with practitioners, in-house counsel, and PTAB judges will be offered throughout the Conference.

What does my registration fee include?
Your registration includes admission to all sessions from Wednesday through Friday, access to speaker presentations, and admittance to  networking events.  PTAB Bar Association has applied for CLE credit for some of the sessions; more specific information will be forthcoming. 

Will I receive a confirmation of my registration?
For all online registrations, confirmation will be immediately sent via email. If you do not receive your confirmation within 24 hours, please e-mail info@ptabbar.org

What is the deadline for registration?
Registration will close March 4, 2024. The last date to change attendance status (in-person or virtual) is Friday, March 1, 2024.

Will I receive a refund if I have to cancel my registration?
Refunds of registrations are available based on when you cancel.

Cancellations made by email before 5:00 PM ET February 28, 2024, will be refunded 50% of the registration fee, less applicable credit card fees and a $25 administrative fee.  No refunds will be available for registration cancellations made after February 29, 2024, or for no-shows.

You may substitute another person from your firm or company if you are unable to attend.
Requests for refunds in accordance with this policy or substitutions may be submitted via email to info@ptabbar.org.

Is my registration fee tax deductible?
The cost of your registration and/or sponsorship is not deductible as a charitable contribution.  It may be deductible as a business expense, but you should check with your tax provider for specific guidance based on your individual circumstances.  None of the sponsorship funds are used for lobbying activities.
