Governance

The PTAB Bar Association is a non-profit organization organized in the State of Virginia. The Articles of Incorporation for the association can be found here.

The PTAB Bar Association and its activities are governed by its Board of Directors and Officers. The Board of Directors is made up of fifteen regular members of the Association. No more than two Directors shall be from the same law firm or organization at the time of their election to the Board. The Officers of the Association include a President, President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer and are selected from the Board of Directors.

Membership is made up of both regular and judicial members. Regular membership includes attorneys who are interested in or practice before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (the “PTAB”) and are in good standing of the bar of a court of any state or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia or agents who are registered to practice before the USPTO. Judicial membership includes Administrative Patent Judges of the PTAB and judges of any other court, agency or office of the United States.
